From Rosemary, thyme, basil and more, they are growing, at their doorstep, the ingredients which they will use in the food…
At the entrance you’ll find a proper car-park (For Guest Only) and all around, you will have this vast “cooking inspired” green garden.
To achieve this, you need “space”, and they got it, over 35,000 square feet.
For those unfamiliar with Chef Ryan Clift, well! He has worked with some of the Top Chef in the World such as Marco Pierre White and Peter Gordon. Then, for almost a decade, he was the executive chef of the restaurant Vue Du Monde.
Now, since he moved to Singapore, he is the Chef/Owner of Tippling Club, multi awarded restaurant... He opened, DingDong, ODP, and appeared in TV shows, known as Mobile Chef or Chef on the road with Nat Geo.
Overall, OFC is a great open concept, lots of nature, well designed building, just a bit too noisy inside, once the customers are there, but they do have a lovely outdoor… And YES, it is a Family and kids friendly…
Seared tuna with green papaya & jicama salad, fresh coconut & dashi vinegar (SGD$26++)
Nice Starter which will open your appetite.
A perfect balance of freshness between the tuna and the other ingredients.
But the seasoning should be lighter. Maybe less dashi. Overall, very good!
300g rib eye steak with garden herb butter, charcoal-roasted potato, garlic & shallot confit (SGD$38++)
Nothing to complain about. A rustic dish with a decent piece of beef, properly cooked and seasoned.
Charred S.A. lamb rump with garden peas, bacon, lettuce, mint, whipped mash & a rosemary thyme jus (SGD$32++)
First, the lamb is clearly not charred (expected to have bit more burnt) but, it is really tender and tasty.
Good piece of meat cooked perfectly, on a bed of delicate garnishes. A classic!
Hot & cold chocolate cake with 17 chocolate sorbet & mint (SGD$17++)
A firework of textures between darkness, sweetness and velvety…
Orange meringue pie with citrus salsa (SGD$17++)
A perfect combination between the creamy meringue, the pine-nuts crumble, the acidity and freshness of the orange.
The plate’s presentation is a reminder of the garden. Fresh and fragrant. The combination of flavour is a real pleasure .
Overall, it’s a nice place to go. The food, of course is good, the service was attentive and I’m waiting to see the improvement of this place.
Yes it is not perfect yet… minor defeact here and there. Missing a bit of greens, some fans for outside, better acoustic in the main dinning.
But I will clearly go back… Good job!
